Shama Mesiwala: Shama is a senior judicial attorney in the chambers of the Honorable Ronald B. Robie of the California Court of Appeal, Third Appellate District, in Sacramento. She is an adjunct professor at UC Davis School of Law, teaching Appellate Advocacy. Shama has been in our region since 1995 when she came to Davis to begin law school, and she lives in Davis with her spouse and son. Amar Shergill: Amar is a trial attorney with The Shergill Law Firm, practicing exclusively in personal injury and wrongful death. Niti Gupta: Niti is a Deputy Public Defender in Sacramento County where she began her legal career in 2007. She started out practicing in the adult misdemeanor unit where she secured a number of trial victories for her clients, then practiced in the juvenile division for three years, and now can be found downtown in the adult felony unit. She received her law degree from Santa Clara University.
Nirav Desai: Nirav is an Assistant U.S. Attorney with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of California, in Sacramento. Nirav previously served as a judicial law clerk to a Circuit Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Nirav is a past board member and scholarship chairperson of the ABAS Law Foundation. Nirav earned his law degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, in 2004, and his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley, in 2000.
